Catmandu is a cage-free sanctuary and rescue for cats located in Carson City, NV. We believe in housing cats in a way that satisfies their physical and emotional needs, as well as keeping them safe.

The 3900 sf of buildings and fenced back yard allow them to move freely and interact with other cats and the humans.        

We help cats that have lost their homes and families to find new furever homes through adoption. We also provide a comfortable and loving home to more than 50 sanctuary cats who are less likely to be adopted due to age, medical issues, or because they are shy with people they don't know. 

Catmandu is a 501c3 non-profit that is supported solely by the generous donations of our supporters.

Adopt a Cat

Catmandu has both adoptable cats that are seeking new homes as well as many sanctuary cats who, for one reason or another, are less likely to be adopted.

Senior Foster Program

39 senior pairs currently benefit from our Senior 2 Senior program, in which senior cats (who are traditionally difficult to place in a new home) receive love, companionship, and care from a senior citizen.

Visit Catmandu

Because many of our sanctuary cats are timid and easily upset by strangers, we do not allow the public free and open access to Catmandu. However, we are happy to give you a tour of the facility during our public hours Friday through Sunday from 11 am until 4 pm. Please note children under 6 are not allowed in the sanctuary and all children must be supervised at all times.
